History

PACCT is a grassroots initiative founded in 1995 to address the needs of our youth, families and community.  In our search to address risk factors that impacted our young people and to effect community change, PACCT embraced the 40 Developmental Assets ® as the framework that could help to promote thriving youth, connected parents and a healthy community. PACCT implements the Asset-building approach promoted by the Search Institute ®. It targets kids K-12 and includes a parent education component so that implementation can occur both in home and at school and more importantly, throughout the entire community.

PACCT continues to work in the Jefferson County community with any individual, organization or business that deals with young people, their families and the surrounding community.  PACCT has motivated and assisted many different organizations to reevaluate their current programs and practices and to include Asset Building as an ongoing part of their work.
